NDIS

Our team of physiotherapist proudly work with NDIS participants of all ages to treat a broad range of conditions and diseases. We have helped participants with musculoskeletal, neurological, and mental health areas improve function, reduce pain and increase confidence to make daily tasks easier and to help them get more out of life.

There are three ways in which NDIS funding is managed:

  1. Self-managed funding
  2. Plan-managed funding
  3. NDIA-managed funding

We are currently able to offer physiotherapy and exercise physiology services to those with self-managed and plan-managed funding.

Balance and Falls prevention

Do you ever feel unsteady, or not quite as sure-footed as you used to be? Do you find yourself having to reach for walls or furniture to steady yourself?  Do you experience pain in your hips, knees, or other joints that have changed the way that you walk? If so, you may be suffering from a balance or gait disorder.

At Unity Physiotherapy we develop personalised fall prevention and improved balance plans for each individual based on their specific needs. Balance draws on multiple systems to achieve equilibrium. These systems include vestibular, sensation, vision, muscle strength and reaction time. Without appropriate clinical diagnosis it can be difficult to regain balance and decrease fall risk.

It is essential that all systems are assessed and a plan is developed to address your specific needs. We are specifically trained to clinically diagnose and treat causes of balance deficits.

Post Operative Rehab

Do you have an upcoming surgery? Are you concerned about the recovery? Are you wondering if you’ll bounce back stronger than you were before? If so, post-surgical rehab can help. Post operative rehab is an essential component of most surgery’s success. It is important for an experienced rehab professional to treat these areas and progress clients safely and effectively towards recovery. The aim is to stimulate and restore joint mobility, proprioception and muscle strength that has been affected by long term pain, immobility and incorrect movement patterns.

Unity Physiotherapy is proud to have helped countless post operative patients function and move well again. We will design a treatment plan to best fit your needs, so you can maximize your outcomes and bounce back as quickly as possible from your surgical procedure.

Common surgeries  we treat include:

Joint replacements, tendon repair, ORIF placements, and arthroscopies

Health Fund

We accept all private health insurance providers and are able to provide you with all the relevant documentation to be claimed through your respective provider following the consultation.

Please note, health fund members should check with their health fund to see if they will cover telehealth physiotherapy consultations. Some funds may impose additional conditions.

DVA and EPC

As a healthcare provider for DVA patients, we are honoured to serve those who have served and sacrificed so much for us. To see a physiotherapist under a DVA or EPC you will need a GP referral.

Please bring this referral to your appointment.

Work Cover and CTP

Our practitioners are registered with SIRA and approved to deliver treatment services in the NSW workers compensation system. Physiotherapy is an important component of returning to a job from injury.  Our goal is to work effectively to ensure your return to function and full duties at work as easy and as early as possible. Workers compensation rehab involves addressing work related goals. Rehab will focus on recovering from a specific injury then progressing to a work hardening program that will prepare a worker to return to activity specific roles.

Telehealth

Telehealth has presented itself as a great way to allow patients to continue receiving medical care from a remote location, such as the comfort of their homes.

Our telehealth services can be accessed via your smartphone or computer, to allow us to virtually help you continue your rehabilitation and healing process. This will allow us to work with you one-on-one to ensure that we do everything possible to help you through your program, and will also allow you to track your progress and see how you are improving as your treatment goes on.

Please note, health fund members should check with their health fund to see if they will cover telehealth physiotherapy consultations. Some funds may impose additional conditions
